All Things Must Come to an End

This morning I turned in my last paper for this semester. Mason came with me and we celebrated after with getting breakfast. When we got back Mason went to grab some milk and decided to throw it out as it was warm. As we investigated further we found that all our food was warm not just the milk. It is pretty sad that I have found it really hard at this apartment to raise and cook rolls. Well the rolls were risen perfectly this morning in the freezer of all places. Our fridge is running but the air is warm and it makes weird clicking noises. So now our apartment smells horrible as we are throwing out all of the rotten food. We are just waiting for maintenance to come and fix it or better yet get us a new fridge.

I have one test left and then Mason and I can properly celebrate. Once I finish that test tomorrow, it is pretty crazy to think that I will only have one week to finish everything for Christmas.

Oh and I have to give a shout out to my brother Michael who is the OLD 3-0 today. Happy Birthday Michael!!! I hope it's a good one. Don't party too hard, it isn't good for you at your old age, haha jk :)

UPDATE: They have fixed our fridge. Both Mason and I are sad that we didn't get a new one. I'm mainly concerned that once we restock our fridge again that it will go out again and then we have to throw out all that food too. It seems like it's one thing after another with our apartment. Oh well, we'll see how long it is until the next disasterous event.

Gross, Gross, and Gross

Tuesday November 24th was all about disgusting things. I decided to clean our vacuum's filters and it was beyond gross. I still can't believe all the dirt that our vacuum picks up from our super thin carpet. I should have taken a picture, it was horrible. Yuck, Yuck, YUCK! I think that next time I won't wait so long to clean the filters, that way it can't get that bad again.

Afterwards Mason and I headed to the airport to pick up Brad. He just flew in from the Philippines. I think Mason was jealous. He spent the night watching Brad's footage. Well Brad picked up some presents for us. I hoping for some cool mask. Instead Mason got...

A frog keychain...

And I got a frog purse.

Yep there it is on my kitchen island. Gross!

They are actually toads. Real Dead Toads! In case you are wondering the zipper on the toad purse is on the toad's chest, so you can't really see it in the picture.

Bradley and Mason were laughing their heads off. They thought it was so funny. I think that the idea of a frog purse is funny, but actually having one is a different story. Brad thought that Mason and I should go out together with our frogs. Can you image me actually wearing a frog purse? Thanks Brad, but I think I prefer the monkey statues from Kenya.

Also Brad got us some money from the Philippines which is pretty cool.

I guess that a hundred piso bill is about two US dollars.

Another Sneak Peak

So I worked a little on our bedroom some more and I put up the vinyl lettering that my friend Emily gave me forever ago. Thanks again Emily! I think it turned out perfect, I love it!

So I'm one step closer to finishing our bedroom. Putting up the vinyl lettering was so much harder than I thought it would be. I had a few mess ups but luckily you can't tell.

I kind of wish that I had taken before pictures of the apartment, but just imagine plain white cinder block walls with hideous red carpet and you have our apartment.

I'm really happy with the changes that we have made to our apartment. We plan on being here awhile, so it's nice that we can enjoy it while we are here. It's kind of sad that it has been taking me so long to decorate (we have been here over a year and a half now) but then again it's fun because there is always something to look forward to doing.

Mason's Birthday

Today is Mason's birthday!!! Happy birthday honey! In fact I got an iPod touch for him and I am using it to write this post. I love you Mason and I hope that you are having a wonderful day. For those of you who don't know how awesome Mason is, let me just briefly tell you how great he is. This whole semester Mason has been cleaning our apartment and cooking me dinner every night. He has been having fun cooking and has made some really good meals. Mason is such a hard worker that he works two jobs and goes to school too. Lately I have been super stressed that he has been surprising me with chocolate and he recently got me a bamboo plant. He is such a sweetheart! Mason always has fun family home evenings and date nights for us. I could go on but I think that my brothers are dying with reading all this cutesy talk so I'll just end by saying: Thanks Mason for all that you do for me! I love you!

Stars

Ever since Mason and I got married we had the idea to put glow-in-the-dark stars in our room. We both have fond memories of having glow-in-the-dark stars in our rooms growing up and thought it would be fun to have them again. After looking for over a year for glow-in-the-dark stars, Mason finally found some and bought them. Last night we had fun sticking stars on the ceiling and on every wall but the "green one." It really felt like we were in space with the stars all around us. They really seemed to twinkle too. Today we will probably finish putting up the rest.
