Halloween 2009

For Halloween this year Mason was Mr. Bean and I was Dr. Laura.

We went to my friend Teresa's party.

Since both Whitney's and Julie's husbands were busy they came together and dressed up as sister missionaries.

For work Mason got to paint a pumpkin.
His was a shy guy.

He also carved a honeydew for Halloween into an alien and it's really cool.

I haven't taken a picture of it yet. Hopefully I can get one before it is thrown away.

And here is a random cute picture of Mason.

During the Concert

So now unto the stories of the concert. So Black Eyed Peas opened up for U2. We are not fans, but we were hoping that they would speak some Tagalog so that Mason could translate. They didn't. In fact it was really hard to understand anything that they said. It all sounded like a bunch of lala's and mama's, etc. There was a few things I understood. One line that the main guy said (or at least I think he was the main guy) "you're going to *#$%@#*# dance and you're going to #%^@#%$ to like it!" ummm... how about no.  Also how many band members can you have? they have way too many. Later after the main guy said some stuff about Obama, he went on with a song with lyrics like "I want money now" and "give me my money." You can wait for Obama to give you "your money" for as long as you want, I on the other hand I'm not going to hold my breath.  The main girl *google search* Fergie freaks me out. Who needs those scary long nails to look like Cat Women and how many times can you annoyingly wink at the audience??? They also had really weird dancers. So after forever long of annoying Black Eyed Peas, finally U2 was on the stage. YAY!

One really cool part of the concert was that Bono was within inches of us. In fact, one part he was so close that would could reach up and touch the bottom of the bridge that he was on. Bono sat at the end of the bridge and then they moved it right over us. Here is some pictures while the bridge was passing directly overhead.

Kind of weird looking picture, but look it's Brad taking a picture with his iPhone.

And look it's Mason's hand.

After Mason accidentally put his hand in my picture, I decided to try to get a picture of Mason in the crowd during the concert and this was what I got.

Must have been something with the lights and fog.

Look at all the pretty colors!

I also really like these.

So I guess I didn't have that many stories.

Here's some photos that I think are worth putting up and I getting sick up putting them up one by one, so here they are all at once, well sort of.

We Have Warm Water!!!

Yes, it's amazing! We have warm water or should I say HOT water. When we first moved into our apartment, our water was warm but after a few months it starting becoming cold and then went to FREEZING ICE COLD. Usually it would try to trick us by being super hot for a few seconds and then going super cold afterwards. Well we finally put in a work order (we didn't want to because of how many times that maintenance kept dropping by at the most inconvenient times over the last year). Now our water is hot, so hot that I actually had to turn it down this morning which I thought would never ever happen. Hopefully it lasts!

The Line

So Mason and I left for the concert on Thursday October 22 after work. We drove as fast as we could and got into St. George about midnight where we spent the night at my grandparents. Then we got up early in the morning to drive the rest of the way to Las Vegas and got to the Sam Boyd Stadium just before 9 AM. David, Melody, Michael, Kristen and Brad made it to the stadium at 6 AM. About noon I headed off to a library nearby to study for the three quizzes that I had to take that weekend while Mason tried to sleep while waiting in the line. I got back just in time as the line began to move into the stadium. Here's some pictures of when I got back to the line.

Then they started letting us into the Stadium and we headed for the inner half-circle. Here is a picture showing where we were compared to the stadium. We chose to be by the railing.

Sorry I cut you off Michael. The next picture makes up for it though.

You can see in the picture above that Brad was #260 in the line.

They handed out these masks that Mason is holding. Mason then had fun but poking out the eyes and well you can see...

Creepy!  And then there was a girl next to us that was wearing her mask backwards, so we took this picture.

After we informed her of the picture that we had taken, she thought it was funny, so we took this picture.

When you are bored waiting for hours you can sure make up some crazy ways to have fun.

After talking to some people that were around us we found out that some had arrived after 5 PM and were let into the inner circle. If that wasn't annoying enough, they continued to let people in ALL throughout the ENTIRE concert. So people were walking in front us throughout the whole concert and would try to stop in front of us when we would make room for them to pass. We were squished and I was very tempted to elbow and push some people over. One time there were these girls that stopped in front of us. One tipsy drunk girl stopped right in front of me and kept pushing me back almost falling into me. She had tons of hair, so when she would lean back I would have hair in my face. I finally decided to push softly back whenever she would fall into me. Finally she left after realizing that her wallet wasn't in her purse and that she probably left it when she bought her beer. I was so happy to get rid of her, but we weren't so lucky with some other people. Brad got stuck behind a super tall person that showed up halfway through the show. Okay so I'm done venting for now. Next up will be about the actual concert.
